1953. The Year that started it all for Playboy founder and publisher Hugh Hefner. The undated 1953 issue has become the most sought after magazine in modern times. With only a paltry printing of 53,000, this makes the premiere issue extremely difficult to find with fewer and fewer magazines available in the higher collectible grades. The first 15 issues comprise the epitome of any Playboy collection, and, as one might imagine, are the hardest to locate.
